Since I am currently negotiating to get a bigger place in exchange for re-newing my contract, I'm curious how much money other people's schools are spending for rent for the sake of comparison.

I replied to a similar thread as this before, but I forgot to mention/stress that it was for a married teacher.

Gepik get bigger accommodation for married teachers.
So my last elementary school paid 6M key and about 600K a month for a 17 pyeong place in Suwon which got a bit crowded (villa).
Western furniture is a real space grabber. We could have done without a queen size bed.

This year I'm in a privately owned Gepik school in Yongin, abd the got us a good sized 24 pyeong (31m) place in Yongin (Apartment). Lots more storage between the inside and outside windows. Didn't ask what money they paid, but it's not an expensive area.

Thanks. I think I'll be showing this one to my Koreans. They should be able to match these terms without too much stress.

As I said, it's in Suwon, right by Suwon Station...

Remember for officetells you will be paying almost 200 a month in fees that the school won't cover.

Central Seoul, close to the subway, my school pays 700,000, but that was due to negotiation on my part. No key money was paid, though, I put it down.
