Hey!

I'm looking at a job in Juyeop, end of line 3, and was wondering if anybody out there was willing to share what they know about the area! i.e., are there good places to go out, do you stay in Ilsan, or go all the way into Seoul, how practical is it to even go to Seoul, what is there to do around Juyeop, etc...

Thanks!

Just make sure it's not St Andrews. Do a search.

I used to live there for about 7mths. Not a bad place overall but hardly the center of things. A couple of nice parks, an hour from Seoul by subway(good for a daytrip) and cleaner than Seoul.

Try JJ's just across the road from Juyeop SLP. It used to have an expat band every Fri night (or was it Sat) though that's a long time ago now.

Thanks for the info, and the warning against St Andrew's. This is an after school program at an elementary school, the job's good but there's another location I'm looking at.

Cheers!

Juyeop is a nice area. There's a bus that goes from there into Seoul (Shinchon) that takes 40 minutes max. If you like to go out and party a lot at night, living in Ilsan can be a bit of a hassle, since you have to taxi it home or crash at a friend's in Seoul. But I liked living there. I had a bike and rode to Lake park nearly every day. Lots of large grocery stores in the area. Very convenient.

The area is really good. Easy access to Seoul. You can get to Seoul station by bus between 45 mins to an hour.
There are bars nearby to hang out so you don't have to go far. Although, if you like clubs than you won't find good ones, if any, in Ilsan.

I would like to say be careful of where your housing is. The buildings are a little older in the area. If it's near Daehwa station there is only one or decent places (Ilsan Seo Gu Cheon building is one of them) and the rest are fairly old and don't seem too decent. If you're housing is more towards Jeongbalsan Station you might have better conditions. The BYC building is also pretty good.

Juyeop is a walk away from the center of the FUCKING universe.

Where Western Dom, LaFesta, Meat Street, and Lake Park come together in a massive glob of things to do.

After all, I took a job in Suyu, up north on line 4.

Thanks for the advice though!

I really like that area, it's a lot cleaner and greener than other areas of Seoul.
