I think the rule is half your age +7 or double your age -7.

There's a rule?

Anyway, happy bday (in spite of your dorky political ideas).

This answer is absolutely, 100%, unquestionably true.

Ex-gf before my wife was barely 20, and a student at another uni here in Seoul. She was a stunner, mature for her age, and was kind. We were in love, but age was a killer, along with the fact that her father would have disowned her. She was also a very driven person who knew what she wanted, and you could tell she meant it by how serious she was about school and her goals. She didn't want to marry anyone until she was 30 or so, which meant I would have been pretty darned old by then. I also had this belief that she's probably want to date around (who doesn't when they're a uni student) and I'd probably get hurt really bad, so I distanced myself.

You might think I was in it for one thing or whatever. Not true at all. I avoided such physical contact because I felt I wanted to respect her. Sounds odd, perhaps, but sometimes when a guy really loves a woman, he will put her above himself (strange concept these days).

Eventually we ended it, but stayed friends via text or e-mail for a while. Several months later, I met my wife.

My ex-gf is living in the USA now, at a better uni. I saw a recent photo of her last year, and I'm sure she's absolutely killing the guys over there. She's a good person, and I wish her well. I'd be crying about the one that got away, but luckily I met my wife.

HB, MM!

Answer: not intrinsically

Here's an un-PC fact: it is perfectly natural for a male of any age to be attracted to any female that's fertile. Though no male on Earth will admit this, given the choice between a woman who's 50 and a girl who's 15, it'll be the latter every time. Not saying I do, nor do I encourage this.....just pointing out an absolute no-brainer. I'm too young to date girls half my age because I'm 29.5, but I'd date a girl who was 19 or 20 without a second's hesitation.

Koreans always gasp when my answer is "never" to their "are you married? why not?" question. It is the way of we superior bermenschen. Mr. Green

This rule is absolutely true. When I was 24, I used my Korean age to convince a 36-year-old to date me. Of course, she was Chinese, so when she found out I was 24, not 25, she was upset. 36/2 = 18 +7 = 25.

I think the general rule of thumb is to make sure she is OVER the age of consent, at least.
Other than that, I really think age is nothing but a number.....
As long as the couple has some common ground to build a relationship and as long as the intimacy (and even friendship as years go on) is there and continue to be there, nothing should get in the way of it.
An ex-army friend of mine just got married recently to this REALLY smoking hot Puerto Rican woman who was 15 years his senior. This would raise many eyebrows, but after several years of dating, they found that they have alot in common and are really compatible with each other....

Although this might only be short-term (but hey! who knows....), if you both have something to build a relationship on, go for it....

Good luck Very Happy
