Hi guys,

My husband and I have to head up to Seoul this week with our newborn son to visit the Embassy. We were wondering if anyone could recommend a nice, clean hotel near the Embassy. We're looking for something reasonably priced (say under $150,000 won) and AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to the Embassy. There's no way we can do the trip all in one day since we're coming from Mokpo and I'm still pretty banged up (the miracle of life is hardcore!).

Thanks,
Pot

I imagine hotels near the embassy will be ridiculously expensive because that's the way things here, especially in Seoul. You could find a love motel, they're really nice and decently priced. They're all over the place.

The Koreana is nice, but I doubt you'll be able to find a room for under 150,000 a night. I could very well be wrong though.

Seoul Tourist Hotel is OK its showing its age though. not that far and i think still around 100k and walking distance. i also saw a best western behind city hall, not sure of the price but likely within your price range. you can still walk to the embassy or grab a cab for 1900 won

I would suggest staying at the Metro Hotel in Myongdong. It's just a 5 to 10 min. taxi-ride away from the embassy, and it's close to the subway.

Rates are cheaper than posted, and the rooms are very clean. Also near the heart of Myongdong and Lotte Dept. Store. My whole family stayed there and loved it. Free computer use in the lobby, too. They speak English if you call.
