I have been offered a job at this school as the after school programme teacher. They have said though that the last foreign teacher left after being accused of inappropriate behaviour towards a student.
This means that i would always have a co-teacher with me in the class which could be a blessing or a curse.

Does anyone have any advice or info on what happened at this school? To be honest i'm worried about the last teacher being accused. What if he was innocent? What is to stop the kids doing the same to me? But why would a kid lie about something like that? But then the teacher may have been guilty.

Is this walking into a potential mine field?

I'd be very wary. There are three possible reasons for them telling you this.
1. He was guilty of "innappropriate behaviour".
2. He wasn't guilty, but allegations were made.
3. The problem was COMPLELTLY UNRELATED, and the teacher may have left for a number of reasons and the school/recruiter is being dishonest.

Assuming the school is honest, the biggest problem is, what consitutes "inappropriate behaviour". Foreigners being percieved as pedophiles is not uncommon amongst koreans. When a recruiter asked me whether I had a girlfriend, and I replied yes...he said that's good...and then tried to diplomatically tell me that this increases my hireability as I'm less likely to be a pedophile. (No..I didn't ask him if he was in a relationship and pay him the same compliment^^).
Chances are, the school will be watching you like a hawk, and once bitten, twice shy. Once their perspective is warped innocent contact (i.e. high-fiving students, or shaking hands etc) may be viewed in a completly different light.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I think this may be a 'potential minefield' as you put it. If you're female, shouldn't be a problem at all (unless the reason was no. 3).

There are soooo many after school programs available now. Why risk it? Go with one that has a Ft you can talk to.

I've seen after school programs paying 3.0 without housing and as much as 2.6 with housing..... 5 hours per day. 6 max.

The desperate index is pretty damn high right now. Take advantage of it and shop around.....
