(1) Close or drastically reform Arirang TV in order for it to provide a more realistic coverage of the Korean way of life.
(2) Use the money saved from the closure of Arirang to establish a fund for educating Koreans about how foreigners benefit Korean society in order to counter negative stereotypes held by a section of Korean society.
(3) Broadcast a certain percentage of Korean news and current affairs programming in a number of different foreign languages in order to allow foreigners to gain a better understanding of how Koreans see the world around them.
(4) Enact and enforce better employment regulations which apply equally to both foreigners and Koreans.
(5) Establish a minimum wage and limit the working week to not more than 45 hours for all workers to ensure foreign workers aren't exploited by their Korean employers.
(6) Give foreigners the same right to join labour unions as Koreans have themselves.

Have a ten year plan to phase out the Hangul writing. It was barely used before the war anyway, just look at old photos and newspapers to see the predominance of Chinese script.

Ummmmmmmmm so what do you suggest they write in?

I don't see any logical reason to change it. Makes no sense at all.

Korea will never be foreigner friendly. Too much arrogance and nationalism to change.

1. Basic enforcement of labor laws.
.
2. Strict punishment of those same laws.

3. Allow foreign workers (3Ds, E-2s, etc.) to own their visa.

4. Pay bonus for Korean language skills!

5. Nation-wide 'stop-staring' campaign would be nice.

If the women offering free hugs would dress a little more scantily. I know it's cold out and all, but....

Punish people or companies for their racist practices. eg, the banks.

I agree, get rid of Arirang.

Fix the visa process. No, not this way. A different way.

Make the police do their job, or get replaced.

I don't really care. I just ignore everything here I don't like and focus what I do like. No one came into my house and spat on me yet, so all is well.

...but more garbage cans would be nice. I feel guilty about having to drop trash on the sidewalk all the time. I hate pocketing trash too.

A more sensible approach to access for newbies to atm/ credit cards and mobile (handaphonesu) phones would reduce a lot of angst

make the laws concerning immigration, work visas, banking etc clear, easy to understand and fair.

Other things like enforcement of traffic, and noise laws, more green space, less pollution and improved medical care would go a long way towards improving the quality of life for everyone, not just foreigners
