I have an interview at a High School coming up. It seems to be a really good opportunity as they genuinely sound like they want to know what kind of person I am before they make any decisions (even before they decided to interview me).
Anyway, after several emails bounced back and forth they sent me a lesson plan, and they said they want me to teach a 45 minute lecture as part of the interview process. They didn't really go into details, they just gave me the material and told me to prepare to teach it (lesson plan, et cetera).
My first question is: who am I probably going to be teaching this to? A room full of teachers? A waegookin? Or the principal?
The second thing... I've heard that hakgyo jobs are very difficult to get. For example, there is one spot and thirty foreign applicants, all of which might have more experience than I (this school isn't in Seoul but it is in a big city just outside of Seoul where I know there are hundreds of teachers).
My second question is, what are my chances? If I do well on the interview will I get the job, or should I expect to have to apply at numerous hakgyos before I luck into #1? |
