Has anyone heard of ACTDEC (Accreditation Council for TESOL Distance Education Courses). Apparently I qualify for the certificate but I have no idea why I would need it. Wikipedia can't explain clearly what it is or what it is good for and all other websites have copied from Wikipedia.
I suspect it's a moneygrabber. If no one on Dave's has heard of it, I'll know it's a useless piece of paper. |

Nobody is going to give you one of those free.
Acrediting agencies for those things are formed by the same people who are giving the course. Generally, a group of like-minded money-hungry folks from some of the different TEFL companies get together and form their own "accrediting body" and give it a name like that. Then they all quote that name to claim their certificates are legitmate and meet certain standards.
Would you go to a doctor who was only accredited because he accredited himself?
Think about it. |
