Hey guys, I want to teach English in Busan starting around August. When would be the ideal time to apply? When I look up postings it seems like most of the positions are for February/March. Should I wait until May to start applying? Or should I start submitting resumes to recruiters now? |

For just any old job... about 90-60 days ahead of time.
If you are fussy and/or have something more than a generic BA then start after March and be ready to fly any time.
Make sure you have your documents in hand and that they won't expire before you actually get your visa.
Some of them can take a while to get and are only good for 6 months from date of issue.

Honest question: given how bad the job market ostensibly is right now, does this advice still apply? Or is it hard enough to find a job that someone should be starting earlier? |

Most employers don't know until about 90 to as short as 5 days before they need the new body whether the current staff member is staying and extending or leaving.
If the replacement is due to termination then ASAP.
If the employer is happy then they need to wait till the teacher lets them know that they are leaving (often 30-60 days notice).
Applying further out than that is mostly an exercise in futility.
