When this whole E-2 crap started, I had already signed a new contract and quit my current job. I applied for my background check before Christmas and it was rejected the first time for not having enough info. The second time I applied, I was told I had too much info and my check was cashed by the state department. Despite this, I received a letter back in the states that my application was rejected for problems with the Korean fingerprint card (I only found this out three days ago). I have since started my new job but my old job hasn't cancelled my visa. It's likely to take two months before I get a new visa (if this third application goes through) and I'm told it's not alright for me to stay at this job with another job's visa. My old job has offered me another position to finish out my contract but is it smart or safe to work at a hagwon with another company's visa? |
