If you are working directly with a PS and not going through an organization like EPIK, SMOE, etc, do you still go through orientation?

I'm starting at a rural PS hopefully ASAP (so, about a week and a half), so it doesn't seem like there'd be anyone else starting at the same time as me, which would make me think there's no orientation, but I could be wrong.

Any input?

Depending on the province you are in and the school you are at you MAY go to an orientation (even though it may be closer to the middle or end of your contract than the beginning).

I didn't do my orientation until almost the end of my 2nd year in a public school.

I started my PS contract mid term in June 07, because it was mid term there was no-one else to have an orientation with, so therefore no orientation.

EPIK contract says you should have one, as Ttompatz says they could spring it on you whenever.

I'm just keeping quiet because I have nil interest in going on 'orientation/boozeup' I doubt I'll be told to go.
