Does anybody here know where there are some cheap Korean restaurants and supermarkets in Montreal?

I need some spicy food warm me up here. I'm freezing! Sad

Hey Dev,

There's a good and relatively inexpensive place right around the corner of St.Catherine and Fort st. (near old Forum). It's on the north side of the street. You can't miss it. Just look for the Korean writing and the poster of the soju bottle. I think it's a bulgogi joint (specialty). Theres also a little Korean market near there where you can pick up some good quality kimchi.

I lived on Du fort for 3 years and I think I remember that restaurant moving last year and becoming something else. I have a friend who used to work at a Korean restaurant on Sherbrooke in Westmount somewhere between Westmount park and Claremount St. Its a nice walk in the spring but it sucks in the snow and wind!

I read about a good Korean restaurant on Sherbrooke st. W. Maybe that's the one.

Otherwise, I believe there is at least one on St. Laurent in Chinatown.

Seems like the pickings are slim in Montreal for Korean restaurants & supermarkets - nothing like Toronto or Vancouver where you have a great choice of them.

I guess the Koreans don't like Montreal. Very Happy

The one near Concordia (across the street from the library?) is called "Manna" (만나), but don't order the "bulgogi" - it comes on a hotplate and it's not the authentic thing... The "chopchae" (sp) is all good, though. It's a little pricy, too.

The one on Sherbrooke W in Westmount/NDG is alright, though... Too bad you can't cook at your table, like here (in Korea). There was another one across from the Place Alexis-Nihon on Ste-Catherine's W, but I'm not sure if it's still there.

I seem to remember someone telling me about some Korean supermarkets in Cotes-des-Neiges, but I'm not sure where.

There's one just to the East (not the library side) of the Centre-ville campus and a Korean 'sushi' restaurant across the road from the Layola campus.

Yep. There's a Korean restaurant around there, too. There's also a restaurant on Queen Mary near Snowdon metro.
