We will be practicing weekly, from 2-4PM, save holidays (Red Days), at the Migliore in Seomyeon. In the Migliore building, go to the 5th floor, to Club Chicago.

To get the the Migliore, go out of the Seomyeon Subway Exit #6, and go right, toward the mountain. It is a large building with an outdoor stage.

There is no need to bring gym clothes or a mat. The club provides them. You may also stay after or come early to use the gym facilites, including their hot tubs and saunas.

The admission is W10.000. The money goes in part to pay the rent, and what remains (50%) is donated to the Save the Children Foundation. For more information, go to our facebook page called "Busan Yoga."

If you've any questions, post here or PM me. . .

We've been quite successful with this in the past and are starting it up again. We hope to get the support to keep it going this year, so come practice with us and keep a positive gathering up and running, meet some new friends, and improve the quality of your life.

I often am told by students that yoga is not for them since they are not flexible. I also often see regular students struggling to be more flexible. Here is how I responded to an email; I thought it would be best if I shared it with you.

One mistake people make is to think that yoga is about flexibility. Flexibility is a side-product of yoga. It's better to think of yoga asana (yoga posing) as the care of the nervous system. Everything depends on the health of the nervous system.

Yogic asanas focus a great deal on the spine, which is the bridge between the brain and the other systems of the body. Insofar as the spine is weak and unbalanced, is stiff and constricted, the nerves are inhibited. Since the health of every last muscle, organ, cell and fiber, is dependent on the quality of nervous energy getting to it, it follows that the health and balance of the spine is in exact correlation with the health of the organism: mind, body and spirit.

In addition, yogic asanas focus on respiration and circulation to make sure that every last cell, organ and system is properly supported by nutrition and oxygen.

So, being able to touch your toes is an ego ideal which is not only misleading but also potentially harmful. Touching your toes is not the aim of yogic asana, so don't let that prevent you from the benefit of asana practice. Just come, and enjoy!
