Has anyone ever flown woth them?

I am mulling over a flight with them from Bangkok back to London as it's a pretty decent price 1.2 mil, but i've heard that they still only have the overhead moniters for in flight entertainment.

I know this is a very trivial thing to be skeptical about, but after flying long haul with a your own personal TV, i think it would be very hard to travel with an airline that doesn't.

Soooo to the point...

has anyone flown on a TG 910, not sure exactly what plane, or has anyone done this route before and can comment on the fligth/plane!

cheers all!!

I flew this route with Thai before but it was about 6yrs ago.

Back then it was over-head monitors.

I know this doesn't help but I found the flight to be good.

On Thai, some aircraft (mostly the 777s) are fitted with PTVs, but the majority are not. Amadeus.net shows TG910 is a 747-400 (which chances are will not be (retro) fitted with PTVs).

Airlines operating the route where you will get a PTV include: Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, Air France, Singapore Airlines and perhaps Turkish Airways and KLM.

Malaysia Airlines, Garuda, Phillipines Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, the Chinese airlines, Air India, Aeroflot will generally not have any PTVs. However the trade off is the increased possibility of a lower base fare from any of these.

I flew with Thai in business class on a medium-range flight...there weren't any private flight entertainment systems. Mad Quite disappointing. Thai airways needs some major upgrading.
