I'm dense, anyone know how to type on Adobe Acrobat 5? I've done it before, just click on the line and type....
Not now.
WTF?
Help, please.

I'm not an expert on this either..
But as far as I know you can't type on Adobe Acrobat.
Its designed to be a page that no one can copy and paste nor is there any HTML code so no one can steal your work in any way. They are also pages that you can't edit. You have to go back to the original source to do that.
I believe you'll have to type it in another program (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, whatever you are doing).. and 'upload' or 'convert' to Adobe Acrobat (although I don't know the process to transfer it over). |

There are differences between the following programs:
Abobe Acrobat
Adobe Acrobat Reader
Adobe Pagemaker
Most people just have the free Abobe Acrobat Reader, which only allows you to read documents.
I don't know much about making Adobe documents either but I do know one of the main reasons for the popularity of Acrobat is the security of the document- preventing unauthorized people from modifying .pdf docs. PDf. docs are also widely used as forms allowing limited modification (e.g. you can fill in the blanks)
Are you using Acrobat or Acrobat Reader?
If you only have the reader you won't be able to write anything except on certain places of forms-type .pdf docs.
Are you trying to type in (modify) your own document or someone else's?
If the latter, chances are you don't have permission to write (modify) anything. |

Bulsajo,
Yes, you can only read pdf files in Acrobat Reader, however, I've Acrobat 5.0, which SHOULD allow me to fill in the documents....can do signatures, and other alterations...just can't seem to be able to type.
Eish!

I do all my typing or formatting in Microsoft Publisher or Word and then print to pdf file. |

Right then, sorry to have under-estimated your proficiency [an honest mistake]. |
