My question is what do any of you know about Performance Reviews? Ever had one? Ever gotten one in writing? Do KTs get written performance reviews?

Thanks.

What organization are you with?

In SMOE, people who want to re-sign a contract are observed for one class. People from the school and district are there. They all write things down. None of it is ever shown or discussed. Even if you ask, nothing is revealed. All you hear is whether you passed or not. And to pass you have to get a 70% or better!

This is the opposite of the Western way where you are shown strengths and weaknesses in order to improve your abilities.

I will have an open class sometime in the next month or so, but from what you say that will also be worthless as a reference letter substitute. Besides I want something now to show prospective employers now since I have to take action now if I'm going to make a change without ending up in an unpleasant limbo state.

I thought I'd ask my administrators to put in writing a formal invitation to renew my contract along with their reasons for requesting that I do so.

I've had enough Korea experience to not expect them to honor this request, but I always try. Very Happy Laughing Very Happy
