|
|
I've just moved into a new (to me, at least) apartment in Seoul, and the windows are pretty grimy. I'm not able to clean them myself as they don't open far enough and there's no obvious access (I'm on the 9th floor).
Do window cleaning services exist in Korea? I've seen people moving out of apartments with crane-like equipment, but my apartment backs onto an alleyway so someone would probably have to abseil down from the roof... |

Dearest doc,
If you get any worthwhile replies to this question ( I am aware mine is not one those) PLEASE pass on the info. I live in an Evervill and so far no one has come up with the (obviously OBSCENE) idea that clean windows would be a nice (and rather lucrative) idea for the gagillion people who live here. I am vexed. I'm sure you understand.
Best,

They used to hire some guys to come and clean ours when I lived in a hi-rise in Bundang. They'd dangle down on ropes. I'm sure they shocked a lot of people, because the suddenly appeared in the window when I was nearly naked -- I sure was shocked.
When I was at Homever, I purchased this thing that was being demonstrated. It has two pieces which separate. There are strong magnets in both pieces which attract each other. Cleaning foam is in between on both sides. You soak the foam in soapy water, and the magnets hold the pieces together on either side of the window. There are squeegees on each piece as well. They worked well enough, but were definitely NOT as easy to use as they appeared in the store. It's one of those things you're glad you only do about once a year. There is a string attached to the outside piece, so if the magnet lets go, you won't lose it. Unfortunately, the foam piece blew out once. Luckily, we were only 4 floors up, and could find it. |

Hmmm..as I was doing my spring cleaning today in my villa that I have lived in for 2 or so years; I pondered this myself. I pay a pretty hefty "management fee" per month for these types of things. I then came to the realization that I am still in Korea (clean windows aren't necessary) and figured the best way to clean my barred up windows and nasty a$$ screens myself. The end result is quite nice; I must say . |

When i moved into my officetel I was shocked at how grimy the windows were. Luckily for me, my school's "handyman" was there, he simply lifted the window up and pulled the bottom towards himself and viola, the window came out. I didn't do them myself but it looked pretty simple. |

You can go to Emart and buy the window cleaners which are magnetic so you just have to be able to attach it on the outside if possible and clean away |
