Has anyone stayed at or heard of White Sands Hotel in Cebu? |
It's an OK place on the higher end of the price scale ($150+ per night/double occupancy). You'll find the pictures are nicer than the reality.
Contrary to the name, you are not going to find a white sand beach. The grounds are nice enough though.
It is down by Maribago (south east side of Mactan Island). If you plan to leave the resort during your weekend you can expect the taxis to flat rate you at about double the meter rate.
Spend the few extra dollars and go for Plantation bay, the Hilton or Shangri-la. The alternative is go cheap and head for Hadsan - you will get time on the beach and not break the bank.
You can also, for about 1/2 the price of the White sands, get a suite at the crown regency suites on Mactan. A taxi or trike out to any of the beaches will cost you about $3 (each way) or catch a jeepney/multi-cab for p15 per person. Have your cake and eat it too.
At $88 per night, it includes breakfast and airport transfers.
