anyone have one of these?

im curious what its benefits are and im surprised there isnt more discussion about it. I believe ive read that you need 50 million won and youve got permanent residency. I should be at that point in about 10 months.

You have to register a business in Korea or enter in a joint partnership with a Korean firm. The 50 million won is supposed to be for an investment into the business. It's not really as easy as having 50 million won in the bank and applying for the visa. The visa should be valid for one year and can be extended.

but i dont think starting a "business" is hard. why not move the money into a stock trading account and call it a business?

Well, they'll want you to legally register a business in Korea. You have to explain what kind of business it is when you register. If you're going to say it's a stock trading business, you will probably need to provide several other licenses so that's no dice. They might also want to see a signed contract for commercial space or see a contract from a company you plan to do business with.

Like I said, it's not a matter of having 50 million won and getting the visa but you can contact the agency yourself.
