Have teaching hours defined, but also have "working hours" defined. In other words, how many hours, maximum, will you be expected to be at the school.
Hogwons typically try to hold back 3.3 -3.5% for taxes. This is the "independant contractor" rate. You are not an independant contractor...no E-2 visa holder is an independant contractor. There is a website for Korean taxes...and you input the amount of your monthly pay (drop 3 zeros) and it tells you what the tax rate is. I'm sorry, but I can't find the website address right now. Ask on here bor the address of that website. Put some language in the contract such as "according to Korean Law and the tax rate calculator at (web address)"
Just put in the contract "1 bedroom apartment" and I woiuld put in something to the effect that the premises will be "clean, free of mold, and all appliances, heating and air conditioning, windows and locks, will be in good working order." Ask that a list of supplied furnishings be included in the contract. Also ask (don't put it in the contract) for photos of the apartment.
Specify NHIC. |
