i thought i would give this a try.
for those of you not in the know, there is a small art gallery on the outskirts of hongdae that does avant-garde art and music almost every week. it is as close to a DIY space are you are going to get in this city. the space is called yogiga and i have been going there since i first arrived in seoul 4 months ago.
anyway, my friend from the states is doing an installation there and i will be performing noisey/weirdo music. there will also be a hand full of locals (no finalized list) performing music, doing live paintings, and at least one other installation. for those wondering where the culture at? in seoul come down and hang with the artists and experimental musicians of the area. show starts at 5pm this saturday, early enough for you to go to tinpan later that night and dry hump some unsuspecting korean girl's leg.
yogiga is closer to the hapjeong station than hongik. link to map below.
also there will be free booze.
if you want more info email me at michaeljoakley (at) gmail (dot) com

That's a cool map you have there. Really minimalistic. Not trying to knock you around, seriously, I like it. |

arg, won't be in Korea soon enough to come to this, but keep me posted about more stuff like this - am hoping to get involved in the experimental music scene (is there one?) in ROK when I come over in May!
exciting |

i think it is a deal where the exhibition is available for viewing around 5 and the music will start a little later. not exactly sure though. last i heard there are something like 6 or 7 musical performances, so the show will last at least a few hours. |

uh, fyi, the artist community in k is of both genders.
I know this first hand because I am part of the artist community here.
I appreciate you wanting to participate and share your art, but please in the future leave your bad taste dry humping literary works in the privacy of your home, where they belong (and probably feel quite comfortable, no doubt)
ok? thank you. I'll check it out see if it's worth it - if it is, you shouldn't have to sell it with free booze calls. |

it's a joke. more so poking fun at the foreigner, dude element in hongdae after hours, but why try to look beyond the first layer, right?. the main artist is a female, there will be female artists performing.
you are right, i have bad tastes and they do lay comfortably in my room. |

how long is this going to go on for? my schedule is terrible and i hate life right now because i'm working until 9pm tonight.
this sounds absolutely fantastic and i'd love to bring some people by.
how late will it go? will there be more? |
