This is what the plug in the wall of my hotel looks like. I went to a PC Bang, a handy way (convenience store) and another small shop and no go. What is the exact name of the plug? I will use Babelfish and try to translate it so I get that adapter for my computer when I ask someone in a store.

This is the plug that goes to my laptop

My current adapter only takes the two prongs and not the three.

I just went to one of those small neighbourhood stores that sell all types of wires, extension cords and lighting. I told them I wanted an adapter, they will first show you the kind with only 2 prongs, then I told them I needed the 3 prong one...the women showed me what they had which is what I needed. It cost like 6,000 won or so. Sorry I don't have a photo of it, but I use it for my compaq notebook.

You won't find such an adapter at a local convenience store. Trust me I tried with some people I worked with last year...you need to find a specific store. If you have no luck, you can always find it at technomart or yongsan electronic marts.

Where is your hotel?

PS - try printing that photo of the 3 prong plug and show it to ppl when asking for an adapter. Much easier than babelfish.

Okay so what is the name of the store and how did you ask exactly? I don't think Apple ships internationally. A PC Bang would sell them right? Is there any online store that sells them? It is for a macbook.

ahh if it is for a mac book that is much easier. You can just go to a macstore and buy the adapter that slides onto the white power adapter. they have them at:

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=75C7C1A6&fnode=home/shop_mac/mac_accessories/power&nplm=M8794G/B

(you can do a search here for macs and you will see places to buy in person)

If I were you I'd just buy a:

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS80730255&catid=25335

That type of cord with a Korean socket...you can plug it into the slot your mac USA adapter plugs into their AC power supply.

(hope you can semi understand what I am saying...not up on the lingo of power cords)

You can buy this cord at e-mart or any of the big shopping stores like that. Also easily at yongsan.

Good luck

The ground will go around a unit like this. Costs about 500 won at any mom and pop hardware store. Way more options to be had at Yongsan. It's called, ironically enough, an 어댑터.

You can also get a new cord (from the wall to the brick) at any computer store, stationary shop or the Yongsan electronics market (upstairs at Yongsan station).

The plug end on the brick side (3 hole) is universal in the computer industry.

the cost will be between 2k-5k won and like I said, ANY computer shop, stationary store, office supply, or take a trip to Yongsan just for the adventure.
