Lads and lasses... the Korean Cricket Association league is about to start in mid-April and we are looking for players. We are an established league and are affiliated with Cricket Australia and the ICC.
Games are Twenty/20 and are on every 2nd Sunday at SungKyoonKwan University in Suwon. (Takes an hour or so by Line #1 from Seoul and the ground is 500m from the station)
There are 8-9 teams (still deciding for this year) with players coming from most test playing nations and beyond. Generally, we tend to play as 'national teams', but this can be flexible as everyone just loves the game and wants to play. For more information about the league contact: [email protected] with "KCA" as your subject.
Game on! |

Could y'all revamp (or resuscitate) your web page? The link from the ICC site is a dead link.
If anyone's interested in playing on Saturdays in Busan, send me a PM.

Sounds good. A few questions though, does one need to commit for the whole season or is just playing a couple of games ok?
And secondly, what is the level of play like (don't wanna completly embarress myself) and lastly is kit provided?
Cheers |

Yes, the original website is dead. There will be a new one up and running soon.
As for commitment, it depends on your team. I play for the ANZIKS (Aus/NZ) team and as it seems to work out there is usually a core group of regular players with a few fringe players who turn up when they can. So far it has worked out fine this way. We usually try to let anyone who is keen have a knock.
A kit is provided.
The standard of play again depends on the team. Most teams seem to have the odd few genuinely talented players and are then filled up by backyard cricketers with varying degrees of skill. Unless you are absolute crap, don't worry too much about being embarrassed - most of us are there just to enjoy the game. |

BTW, there is a cricket practice net (yes, that's right!!) at SungKyunKwan Uni in Suwon, where there are open 'training' sessions on Saturday afternoons from 2pm.
It is a kind of loose coaching session for the young Korean team, but open for anyone to come down for a knock or a bowl. A kit is provided.
Again, anyone is welcome. For details, contact the email address in the OP. |
