Please don't yell at me.. Smile

I've been through some posts on here, and I wandered around Yongsan today...But I'm still a bit confused.

Let's say my budget is around 700,000 won, w/o the monitor. (or a bit more)

Are the pre-made ones where they have the stats taped to them a good deal?

What do I want to do with it...I dunno..Download movies, I want to play Spore when it comes out...Maybe other games from time to time.

Hard Drive - I don't need more than 250GB, unless the upgrade to 500GB is neglible.

I assume I want an Intel Chip, and a pretty good video card, but....I dunno. I want a nice computer so that my laptop can have a rest.

I'd appreciate any suggestions...I assume I could just take what they give me, but I don't want to get screwed or get some crappy components.

You could get a quad core system for that. Look on danawa...

http://pc.danawa.com/price.html?defSite=PC&cate1=860&cate2=865

the tabs that say pc on the choice bar have built systems.

Here's a quad core system for under 500,000

The ones you see advertised on the banner posters are "last month's" prices. Current pricing is almost always a bit lower and a bit faster.

I have found the WORST pricing is upstairs at the Yongsan station - even though it is the most convenient.

IF you go across to the rail yard to the terminal building (the big blue one) you get 10-20% better pricing without even having to haggle.

Cross the street over to the son-in plaza (the place with the big "gigabyte" sign on the side of it) and you get 20-30% better than you would at Yongsan station.

If you make up a list of basic components (CPU, video card, HDD size, ODD type, RAM quantity) for your system they will pick the parts and assemble while you wait.

It takes about 1 hour. IF you want them to install windows you can add another hour to your wait. You pay the component prices +20k won for assembly. AS a package most places will give you a 1 year parts and labor warranty.

Do you have a suggestion for CPU, video card, and RAM quantity?
