Can anyone recommend some hotels (incl love motels and just normal motels) that are under or near 100,000 won a night in Haeundae, Busan? |

The best one I've found (with lots of walking and looking) is the Santa Fe motel. It's about 2 or 3 blocks away from the aquarium on the right side of the road. If you see the oddly-shaped, skinny motel named "Click" on the left, you went half a block too far. For 35,000 won you get a big room big TV, in-room PC with Internet and all the other love motel extras. I went in the off season, so expect higher prices in the summer.
I also wanted something under 40,000. You got 100,000? Check out places closer to the beach or fancier. |

There are tons and tons and tonsandtonsandtons of motels between Haeundae Station and Haeundae Beach. Any of the newer-looking ones are good. I stayed at the Nobelesse (sp?) about two weeks ago. 60,000 for the "special room" got me a computer---two computers, actually---TV, projection screen, jacuzzi, Play Station, refrigerator, and all the typical amenities. I was very pleased.
Based on the websites of motels in the area I've seen, 100 K will get you a lot. Expect to pay more if you stay in the western chains like Novotel or Westin, but the love motels are all well under 100 K. If you can navigate Korean sites, go to Naver and type in 해운대구 모텔 and you'll find tons of listings. The top ones will all have their own websites. Here's a collection:
http://search.naver.com/search.naver?where=nexearch&query=%C7%D8%BF%EE%B4%EB%B1%B8%B8%F0%C5%DA&sm=top_hty&frm=t1
That area though has lots of side streets and alleys, so it's tough to even find a particular motel without doing a lot of walking in circles. I stumbled across the Nobelesse after walking around looking for a while for the three or four I had written down . . . it was new and looked nice, but there were literally dozens more within sight.
If you want, maybe check out the Naver link and write down the names of a few. But when you get to Haeundae, just walk around the area and look for something that looks nice. All those love motels are within a 5-minute walk of the beach and aquarium. |

I've stayed at Sugar Hotel a couple of times. Very nice, clean, high tech, under 100,000 won even in high season. Turn left past McDonald's, it's on your right. |

The Santa Fe is nice for about 50,000 right now...everything buddy from above said. The reason why you can't see the McDonalds is that there was a fire and it's under renovation and all the signs are covered. |

Down the beach from the station (if you are standing, facing the beach, then off to your left), if you keep going to the very end of the boardwalk, down past the casino hotel and restaurants, in the building next to the 7-11 (with the bumper cars) there is a hotel called "Waikiki". It's about 90,000 a night for a room with a view of the beach and huge picture windows.
Love that place. Great view. |
