Did I imagine it or was this a recent post on the Korean job board?!!
Something-Do University,
We require a qualified teacher, preferably with a Masters degree.
2.0 million won a month, housing next to the Janitor's closet, and
a generous package which in reality is worse than what most public schools offer.
We will organize an interview with you, we will ask you to wait for confirmation of that interview, and then we will never contact you again. (The OP had this experience recently)
Oh well, at least it's not as bad as those posters who were offered a job and then told to get lost. |

Yeah, I don't get these uni positions. I made more than that on employment insurance in Canada. And I didn't work one second. |

Just like my second last interview .. .. you're hired (wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait) .. takes the other job on offer. |

I kept warning my uni that they needed to quickly offer a contract to lock-in the person they offered the job last year. They got burned because they offered the job, but didn't get off of their butts and offer a contract. After that, my boss tells me, "We're going to give candidates a preliminary contract for them to sign immediately, and then we'll ask them to sign a second, more detailed one later."
She didn't understand why I thought that idea might not go over well, and said, "It doesn't matter, because they will have already signed with us."
I then said, "What if they refuse to sign the second contract because they like the first one better?"
Her response, "They will have to."
Ha. |
