Just curious.... I'm an avid fisherman back home in East Tennessee and Ive read a few links here and there about fishing here in Korea. I live in the Nowon area just curious if anyone knows of any spots... small lakes, rivers, creeks that hold fish?? OTHER THAN THE HAN!! HAHA.. Any info would be great thanks..

i too am an avid fisherman. im going to tell you this hoping that someone else will see it and be able to give you some contact info, because i have since lost the guys info. but....

there is this dude here in korea, hes married to a korean lady. he take you out into the mountains for about 250,000 won for the weekend to do some trout fishing. when i went, it was really nice. caught about 20 trouth, mostly browns and cut-throat. the guy was really cool, we met up on a saturday evening and he had arranged accomidations. we wake up in the dark the next morning and we were fishing by the crack of dawn. the guy supplied an awsome lunch with a beer, and like i said a whole day of awsome fishing for trout. really nice.

only problem is, i only did it once and have since, like i said, lost the dudes contact. im sure he still does it, he said it was his side job, as well as teaching english. really nice guy, if someone else has his contact on here, maybe you can get hold of him?

Be sure to check out www.anglerstown.com. Lots of good info about different areas and how/what the fish are biting. At the bottom, there's a link for "destinations" which will take you to another page, where you can select an English version, which has some hot spots for the different areas in Korea. Basically, it's a matter of getting out to a river or lake and wetting a line. Good luck.

Simply great! I've been fishing in Korea for a year or so, mostly in and around Munhyo-ri and Yangpyeon in Gyoengi-do. That website is great, so many thanks.
We're off to somewhere called Chuncheon this weekend to go overnight Carp fishing off a floating platform. Really looking forward to it!
