Anyone try sponsoring their Thai g/f for 3 months, ...then she goes back to Thai for a month (to clear the Kor air), then returns on a Kor friend's sponsorship?
Just to change things up?..
..or because of extenuating circumstances?
Just wondering.
I'm considering this move.
Thoughts?

I don't really NEED the replys RE: Marry her you loser!
I have married her in her country.
I am a polygamist so cannot register with ALL the applicable authorities.
Thank you very much. |

Letiz7 brought his gf over here for a few months on a 3 month visa. School wrote a letter inviting her over. |

Is it a problem for a Thai to get a visa without the invite? My gf is planning to come visit me in a couple of weeks, will she have a problem getting a visa? |

That is very true.
However.
They don't like letting the lovely Thai lasses in.
When the wife first came out she arrived at the airport knowing that there was a visa expemption thing. They hauled her into the intergotation room where she showed them my papers and a copy of my ARC card, passport, marriage papers translated in English etc etc.
They held her for about an hour and eventually called me and asked me if I knew this woman with all my details and the same last name as me.
She was tagged onto my visa and I was sworn to making sure she was no trouble.
Took the fucking piss. Cunts the lot of them.
The cunt at the Korean embassy in Seoul would not issue her with an F-3 visa there even though she had all the correct documents and had run around getting extra ones that he had requested.
As I said cunts the lot of them.
However....
Once in the country they have been as good as gold with her and me. |

That's the kind of situation I really want to avoid.
I don't want to put anyone on my visa or to be responsible for them though.
I would like her to come as an independant tourist as per the visa-exemption rules.
Koreans don't have problems taking a vacation in Thailand?
I wonder if there is a simple way to prove she is not a vhore? Credit card / house paper / car registration ?? |

Good Luck! My experience with filipinos probably extends to those from Thailand. No tourist visa unless they have very good reasons to return to their home country such as a job, property and large bank account. Easier to get a C3 visa if you are married. |

As ttompatz has previously said Filipina'o's don't have the exemption any more.
They cunt at the consulate was all smiles to the missus telling her that she would get in because of the visa rule.
PP is the woman you are intending on bringing in likely to do a runner from you?
She could apply for a visa at the consulate showing papers for her house, car, bank statement etc but again they told my missus that she didn't have to do that.
They are cunts. Nothing more nothing less. They happily go over to Thailand and *beep* ladyboys and do meth. Yet they won't let a Thai come over here unless they are minted or on a tour group. |

The whole thing should be relatively straight forward, but it does depend on the immigration officer you and how good his dwenjang jiggae tasted that morning. I've gone one better and hosted a GF (now wife) from an SE Asian country with no visa waiver program and was successful. As an above poster said, they really are a clueless pack of forkwits whose adherence to legislation and policy is sketchy at best. Be prepared for some stupid questions, such as the one I got in Cheongju, to wit; "why do you want your wife to come here?" I should have said it's because that option is much cheaper than patronizing the rub-and-tug every night, like he did, but luckily I bit my tongue. |

I've exhausted many avenues and have arrived back at square 1. Well, actually there is one more small hope.
My Korean fiancee' is opening a small biz...(export/import with Thailand)..she will attempt to employ my Thai wife as her one and only employee. (translator/purchaser) Even with that!!..the Korean authorities are a pain in the arse! They want to choose the employee themselves (for HER company!)!! from some govt. agency! Fer godsake!
Anyways, last choice for Thai wife (whose marriage I cannot register in Korea): Student visa. |

I think applying for a tourist visa - bringing all proof of respectability documents to the Korean Embassy is the way to go for me.
I am not 'bringing her in'. She is not my pet!
My phone call to the embassy went:
PP: My girlfriend would like to visit Korea for two months as a tourist. Does she need to get a Visa.
KE: No, it's not necessary. Thais are visa exempt up to 90 days.
PP: And so she just needs a passport and return flight?
KE: Yes, that's right.
PP: And she won't be stopped by immigration for any reason?
KE: No.
PP: I heard on the Internet that some Thai ladies are refused entry because they think they will do illegal work.
KE: Oh yes. It's entirely up to the Immigration Officer to make a decision.
PP: Huh? |
