Over the years I have noticed that a number of people have had their parents visit. My parents may be visiting for a week and I would like to know the itinerary of anyone who has had theirs visit.

-What hotels are good and reasonably priced in Seoul or other cities that you visited?

- Did you get a multi ticket train package? One that lets you get on and off at different places (Is one available)

- How much time should I allocate for one city?

-What are the main cities to be seen other than my own city?

- What was the average budget?

If you have travelled with your folks then please let me know the above by PM. This will be based on approximate 1 week, I have some ideas but would like some practical advice from thise who have done it. (Keep in Mind they are early 70's) Thank you.

You didnt' mention what city you live in. Personally, I think you're best sticking to Seoul for the most part, maybe fitting in a day trip to the DMZ. While i do like other Korean cities, for someone just spending a week here they'll all look the same and will spend half the time travelling around that they could be spending checking out museums, operas etc.
When my folks came I think they were delighted to do touristy stuff by day and eat/drink/relax every evening.
Fit in an overnight trip to Busan travelling by KTX if you're determined to show them other parts of country^^

When my parents were here we stayed at the Vabien...II? III? It's right near Seodaenum station and it was FANTASTIC. Huge, huge room with two king sized beds (I was homeless at the time), washing machine, kitchen...really nice.

We did Namsan, DMZ, Insadong (Mom loved it) and a couple of palaces, took a train trip to the green tea fields and bamboo forest (they really liked that), went to the traditional village in Suwon, checked out a taekwondo demo (my teacher was on the national team; now she's teaching China's national women's team), had dinner and soju with Master's family, checked out Buddha's Birthday Parade...

I'm forgetting some things in there.

But we had a really good time. I wanted to go more places with them, but there just wasn't that much time and they were a bit jet lagged.
