Anyone know if its possible to use the fitness centre at the Osan Air Base?

Was online looking at pics of that gym.. sure as hell beats any korean gym i've seen. Makes a korean gym look like a child's playpen.

Anyhow, i just moved to songtan and would love to work out at this gym. But reckon i'd need a soldier to sign me in at the gates.

Anyone who is military and is lookn for a training partner pm me. I live about 5 minutes from the main gate.

You need an ID card to use it during peak times, unless you walk in with everyone else and just bring your own towel and keep everything in your gymbag....
I know when I went to the Collier Field House in Yongsan, no one asked me for ID to work out there. But then again I used it in the evenings.....
First things first, you are going to have to think about how you are going to get onbase first. But you already have that covered, then have a good time working out.....

Back before 9/11, I had a pass to enter Camps Henry and Walker in Taegu. I got the pass through MWR by joining some kind of Korean-American community club. I had to pay a few hundred dollars a year but it got me access to everything on the base except the PX and comissary. Believe it or not, I was also allowed to sign in up to four people at one time using my card. It was a great way to escape Korea for a while. Anyway, contact the MWR office at Osan. They might have a similar program.

Another way would be to volunteer for the USO. After a certain amount of time, they will sponsor a basepass for you.
But the condition is that you have to volunteer 20 hours per month thereafter to keep it.
For more info, call 02-724-7781

No worries, the Korean police can't go onbase to find out anyway......

Some of us E-2 types are also retired US military and have base access. Some other people are spouses of US military and have the appropriate visa (E-2, etc.) for teaching off-base.
