I have been all over this board looking for exact information, so please forgive me if its already been covered, but I couldnt find it.

Exactly what documents do I need if I am staying at the same school (public school) for another year. I am Canadian.
I assume criminal reference check, can I get one from Canada without going home?
I am so confused!!
Please help!!!

Your school should be able to tell you exactly what documents you will need.
Just curious. Did you submit a Background Check when you first got the job?

quoted from the GEPIK website:

If you wish to renew your contract at your current school, you will need the following documents ;

1. Visa Extension Application
2. Passport and your Alien Registration Card
3. New contract
4. Sponsorship Certificate (from school)
5. A copy of Certificate of School / Business Registration (from school)
6. Processing Fee

If you happen to renew your contract AFTER March 15, 2008, you will need the following in addition ;

1. New Criminal Record Certificate, apostillized / embassy notarized (for Canadians only)
2. New Health Check Certificate

Please note that for those who had their initial E2 visa issued by the Superintendent of GPOE, you may be exempted from providing the above two documents. However this is at the discretion of the case officers at each Immigration Office.

Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education BUT the reference could be any provincial office of education, not just the GPOE.

What if you're on an F-2-1 visa?

Then you don't need to worry. Your school is not your sponsor and immigration doesn't care about your degree, transcripts, contracts, CRCs, medical checks, school's registration or sponsorship forms.

You only need to produce (for the school) what the school wants you to produce to continue your employment (probably nothing).

Don't get a divorce.
