| I am returning to Korea for my second round, and have accepted a job in Shin-Jeju, a suburb of Jeju City. Anyone living there now that can give me a heads-up on the place? My last turn I did in Jamsil, in Seoul. I loved it, but got overwhelmed by how big Seoul was. I am looking forward to a smaller, slower-paced experience this time. Anyhow, if anyone knows anything about the area, I would appreciate the info! Tootles! |

It's not really a suburb, just the newer part of the city. It's all one big city. It's nice and quiet, with lots of outdoorsy things to do. The beaches are 10 - 15 minutes away, the mountain is 25 or so. Lots of gardens and parks. Plenty of shopping at Lotte Mart and E-Mart plus a nice "fashion" area for clothes and stuff.
I really like Jeju and don't want to live anywhere else in Korea! PM me if you have any specific questions.

| Hi KPRROK! According to a lovely pop-up I received, I can't PM till I have contributed 25 posts. I will try to up my participation on the board, but until then, would you be willing to carry-on a conversation via e-mail? I am really interested to learn about my new home, as I will hopefully be there by April 25th (Visa and consulate interview pending). Anyhow, if you would not mind e-mailing me, you can send it to [email protected]. I am so excited, and appreciate your willingness to share! LOL! |
