|
|
Are there published figures anywhere that state how much funding each public school gets - for resources, materials, supplies, etc. - for having foreign teachers in the classrooms? I'm talking, aside from foreigners' salaries and housing costs.
Does the amount depend on the size/location of the school?
Any info (or direction of where to look for such info) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

someone on here has posted that it's 50 mil won per FT (this is including their salary, apartment, etc.)
so, chances are they have enough left over for English supplies, but they probably will not acknowledge it to you |

| Recruiters fleece you on this. If you get a job through a recruiter and they ask you to do that whole new bank account thing, then you know someone is taking backhanders. A friend was doing this and was being paid 4.2 million into his bank. The recruiter was then taking 1.8 out of that and leaving 2.5 for my friend. Nice earner for the recruiter and probably the principal of the school. Do you think the government is actually aware that this is going on everywhere at the moment? |

I don't know the answer to the op's question.
However, I do know that since our administration (Principal and Vice) changed last year, a ton of money has suddenly appeared. I was suddenly able to move and had 1 million won to cover moving expenses and more money for housing. We have money for supplies, materials, snacks for English meetings, and English teacher dinners.
I figure the last administration was skimming a lot! |

| My school got 50m won for me. They broke down all the costs for me---key money, furniture, rent, salary, overtime, and medical---I'm actually going to be a bit over budget. |

Is the overtime for extra classes? If so, they are probably collecting tuition money from students. |
