Hey, I'm considering coming back to Korea. I already spent a year there so I know pretty much what I'm getting into. But instead of getting a job while I'm here I was considering travelling there by myself and trying to set up shop. But is it still possible to do that with the new regulations? Any help would be great. Thanks. |

Hey tanklor, I asked this question also a few weeks ago and the answer I got was that if you have previously held an E-2 visa without problems from Immigration, you're able to come back and then go on a visa run when you get a job.
If you haven't held an E-2 previously, you're out of luck!
Hope this helps, it sounds like you would be fine. |

Tanklor,
You can do a visa run after your employer runs through the process and gets you a visa number. It is just easier if you prevously held an E series visa.
I had a coworker receive an E2 visa from Japan. My coworker had been staying off and on in Korea for nearly a year on a C series visa and never held an E series visa.
It can be done without too much difficulty. PM if you want me to send you a document from the Korean gov't outlining the process. |
