|
|
The Top 10 Reasons to Leave Korea
10. Drycleaned clothes reek of turpentine
9. Bars serve fruit salad instead of potato skins with a pitcher of stale beer
8. Shoe laces cannot be properly replaced
7. Taxis must be shared with strangers who have a bad case of garlic breath
6. The PC rooms sound like a war zone
5. Korean hip-pop is played everywhere
4. The only mail in your mailbox doesn't belong to you
3. One risks contracting lock-jaw by opening a bottle of soju
2. Lines of people use credit cards to buy a coffee and Mister Donut
1. Koreans put kernels of corn on pizza
Don't let this list discourage you from coming to Korea to teach English, and don't let it depress you if you're already here standing in line for a coffee and Mister Donut or desperately trying to communicate with the counter clerk at Mr. Pizza. |

Par for the course, Mate. I've no problem with any of those. 'Cept soju. Gotta be whipped open for a swig at any time at any moment.
And, not a friggin thing with corn on it. WTF? Corn is the US's largest export. Mofos. |

How do you feel about blow drying your hair while standing in a puddle of water after you shower? And concerning corn, the domestic brand isn't sweet but bland. This is another good reason to leave Korea. |

ummm .. go to my bedroom from the ensuite and use the power socket there?
I think our problems are exaggereated because we know that we can die at any moment. Well, we live with that, eh? We use the ensuite, ''''zap.''' We use the shower socket, ''''zap.''' We are kind of fuㄷked. But, the US corn, sweet? bleeach. Makes me want to vomit on Kirkland cheese.
Give me Kiwi cream.
Anyday.
I'll give you Kiwi cream. |

Sorry, This stuff about American products are better is BS. Someone says that Kirkland cheese is the bomb. Fuㄷks sake, get yourself into NZ/Aus cheddar. Got a lot of dairy. None of that yellow dot white base cheesy slime stuff.
Same goes for corn. Bleech.
I hate corn. Never eat it. Except come here and the place is full of it.
C/- the US trade agreement.
Goddamn, Hyundais in trade of Corn! |

Kiwi ice cream? Now that sounds good; one reason to go to NZ to conduct English pronunciation drills .
I've seriously considered leaving Korea because of Green Tea ice cream. |

Sorry guys,
Your list is right in many ways. I never buy pizza anymore because of the corn. No matter what you order it's got corn on it, or that disgusting cucumber as a side dish.
But, I've got a -ve fetish about the processed American 'cheese' that they sell at Costco. Yeah, yeah, flame me brutilize me. What I'm saying is that some common and prevalent in-the-market American foods are also pretty hideous - to a foreigner's taste buds.
You see, I'm not American. Some American foods strike me as a little yucky. Americans love it though.
I'm not Korean, so I can't get into the corn. Koreans love it though.
The point is I'd be wary of adding food to a list of reasons for some cultural superiority. There's always a flip side of taste and not one culture has dominance of food taste.
I've even heard, yeah it's dissapointing to hear, that NZ food is 'too rich' in taste so yucky. |
