Nothing in common but came across both recently.

I wonder how Korea will review the American remake of Sassy Girl; esp. cause it looks like it butchers the original:

Gargle w/ this:

(IMHO, the most hilarious scene of Knocked Up that was deleted)

Another Korean movie, currently in post production, that Hollywood has tackled is A Tale of Two Sisters. I really didn't care for the Korean movie so am keen to see Hollywood's take. Oh, it's got Emily Browning in it so that's a bonus.

I thought my Sassy Girl's appeal to Asian audiences was she was not a demure woman but took charge and was very outspoken. It was shock appeal. Western women are rather used to that role. I'm not sure how they can translate that.

The Knocked Up clip was great. I can see why they chopped it down. Goes a bit long. I suspect he was improving. I wish actually they used a bit more of him because he was quite fun to watch. I think there's a movie waiting based around the "angry asian man" character. It's like the angry asian guy in Lost is kind of fun to watch.

My post in this thread was randomly deleted. Not that it really contributed much anyway, but it's kind of rude to play with someone's sanity like that.

Boy I watched that American My Sassy Girl trailer and I was bored after the first 2 minutes. Didn't watch the rest. I think I saw this movie already, it was with Bruce Willis and he had a blind date and couldn't get her drunk. But he accidentally did. And hilarity ensued... the straight talkin' girl confronts the stuffy business world and gets her man a promotion...

Seen it.

Please re-read the board rules. They clearly state that JJH must not be insulted in any way (eg "prissy"). As was put by Mr. A. Einstein, of Princeton NJ: "Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth."

sorry about that guys..i thought i was going crazy b/c I was sure i posted to the general index as I was used to posting there; so i posted to general index again and then I realized the moderators were moving it to off-topic since this is about entertainment i guess.

mindmetoo - yeah I agree - i dont think sassy can work w/ western audience. yeah ken jeong clip was too long and people are trying not to smile/laugh, which made it funnier. I was disappointed they didn't include it in the deleted scenes in the DVD; you have to buy the special double disc edition for it.

i hope ken jeong is one to watch but pineapple express itself doesnt seem promising for some reason; we'll see...
