I got a black 1992 Hyundai Sonata. I bought it off a guy in Itaewon for $300. The interior is okay and the engine is strong. The body is a little rough though.
There was a major rust hole below the gas cap. So I duct tape over that and painted it black. Very nice. Every day more and more of the paint is flaking off so I just touch up. The hood was replaced and it doesn't have any insulation above the engine. So when it rains and the hood is hot I got a steambath going on. I do have tinted windows so that helps.

2007 Kia Carens. LPG. No complaints at all. Just underpowered. 2.0 engine. I don't need any more power really.
Driving something with an engine any more than 2.0L is just a waste of gas and shows a selfish attitude to the environment. |

To buy a new car you must be in Korea for the long haul. If I was staying in Korea long term....I would like to get an SM7.

250cc Hyosung Mirage.
I couldn't stand driving a car in Seoul's traffic. Passing everyone at stoplights and breaking traffic laws while cops stand idly by is the only thing that keeps me sane. |

I'm driving a 1979 Lee Hyo ri. Korean make. Looks good and rides nice, but the most god awful sounds come out of it sometimes. |

Anything gas powered shows a selfish attitude to the environment.
I've been on foot the entire 5 years I've been here. The fare I pay on buses and taxis go toward the only gasoline I ever buy. |

Very laudable if you're young and single....... But it's a much different matter if you're starting a family. |
