Some website has got hold of my email address (it's a chinese electronics firm) and is currently spewing out loads of emails to everyone in my address book regarding great deals on TVs etc.

The reason I know this is because I keep getting a few bounce back as Delivery Status Notification (Failure) messages, but most of my contacts are still getting hit by these emails which is obviously very embarrassing on my part.

Does anyone know how I can stop this as it's driving me mad.

Thanks in advance.

Look on your system for Trojans.

They often do not get picked up by many anti-virus programs and they use your computer and address book to spam the net.

The other possibility is that your e-mail was picked up and used as a spoof by the chinese firm to avoid anti-spamming software.

I suspect that since they are going to people in your address book that your computer has a trojan.

Your computer may be spreading spam

Thanks, but is there any chance you could elaborate on how I look for trojans?

I have found that twister works pretty well at catching stuff that Norton, AVG, AVAST and Macafee have missed.
