Hello!

I'd like to ask all of you a question about the fan in your computer. Mine is making a noise like my washing machine on final rinse and I was wondering if any of you knew how I could fix it without carrying it into a shop. Thank you for your help in advance.

Get a can of compressed air and blow the dust out of it.

IF it is still noisy, then the bearing in the fan is going/gone. You need to replace it. A fan is about 5-6k won. It takes about 5 minutes and a screwdriver. It is pretty simple to swap out.

You can probably get it done at any computer shop for 15k won or simply replace the PS for about 30k (labor included).

Is it the big fan in the back, which is sucking hot air out of the case? It sounds like it needs replacing. The fans like that are usually black and plastic -- square shaped. They are very cheap and easy to replace. What I usually do is open the case, and find the little power wire to the fan. See where it plugs in and unplug it (mark it with tape so you can remember where it plugs in).

Remove that fan from the case, and take the whole fan to Yongsan or a computer shop and ask to buy a replacement. In Yongsan, they are like 2,000 won. Make sure the new one is the identical size, that the power plugs are identical, and the volts/amps on them are real close. Then just buy it and take it home -- install.

Very easy.

If it's the fan hooked to the processor/mainboard, then it's a much bigger issue, and if you don't know what you're doing, you should take it in.
