And before you say most of them, please compare benefits. I'm looking at the options for teaching that pay more then 1400 USD per month with housing. The key is to go to a country that allows you to change jobs on the same visa or makes it possible to get a new visa with minimal hassle. Anyone have any recommendations? |

Taiwan.
Expect 50-75,000 NTD per month, possibly with housing, possibly without. Not sure about airfare. But the visa deal is dead easy, so I'm told. |

If you look up their FAQ pages they have a lot of good info on Korea, Taiwan, China and Japan |

Vietnam is hourly, but if you have qualifications it's up to $25/hour working approx 25-30 hours per week.
Accomodation about $150-200/month and you live REALLY well on that.
Lots of privates going around if you put yourself out there.
Good money to be made and FAB place to live. |

You're not working in the DMZ area...
The students are the best you'll find as well. Very eager, intelligent and respectful. |

For the more adventurous, Cambodia is also a good earner. $15/hour for qualifications, 25-30 hours/week. Dead cheap, but can be hairy....Not much of a private market though.
Like I said, for the adventurous, looking for something different. |

As for visas/work permits in Cambodia and Vietnam. Go in a tourist visa, find a job(you'll get a good one within 2-3 days), and they arrange the visa. It's owned by you so if you want to change jobs, you can.
Other option...teach on a tourist visa. Most people do.
Living and teaching in SE Asia is excellent. less absolute $, but your life style is unmatched. Good option if you're not seriously chancing savings. It is however still possible to save more than you would in the real world. |

Japan, I'm pretty sure, let's you switch sponsors without getting a whole 'nuther visa. But with the cost of living, you wont be able to save as much money or live as well as any of the above countries. |
