Accoding to this article, the Chinese authorities are 'very concerned' that the Tibetan independence movement might take a step in the direction of an Iraq-style insurgency in that they claim that certain elements of the Tibetan exile community, frustrated with their non-violent struggle going no where, might turn the seemingly peaceful protests into an insurgency that includes suicide bomb squads.....wft!

I have read alot into Tibetan history since this crap started and since the late-19th Century, the kingdom has been mostly peaceful, advocating its inhabitants to not even hurt insects in their path toward Nirvana....

I just have some difficulty believing this is true..... Confused

I hope this is just Chinese government propaganda. If some Tibetans resorted to suicide bombing, their cause would begin to lose support.

I can see maybe burning themselves alive like was done in Vietnam, possibly. I don't see Tibetans becoming suicide bombers. China is trying to whip up fear and blow things out of proportion, because they don't want to lose control of Tibet.

Chinese pro-PAGAN-da.

Remember the big "terror" threat Beijing was reporting a week or so before this latest round of riots in Tibet?

They want to portray Tibetans as ( yep, you guessed it ) "terrorists" Rolling Eyes

i'd reported on this on another thread.

Hmmmmm ... i guess you didn't see it.

China: Tibetans Planning Suicide Attacks
By CHRISTOPHER BODEEN, Associated Press Writer

BEIJING - China on Tuesday accused "Tibet independence forces" of planning to use suicide squads to trigger bloody attacks
the lastest in a string of accusations that have taken aim at supporters of the Dalai Lama.

The prime minister of Tibet's government-in-exile denied the claims, saying Tibetans are committed to a "nonviolent path."

"To our knowledge, the next plan of the Tibetan independence forces is to organize suicide squads to launch violent attacks," Public Security Bureau spokesman Wu Heping said Tuesday.

"They claimed that they fear neither bloodshed nor sacrifice," Wu told a news conference.

Wu offered no firm evidence to support his claims. Wink
