Has anyone ever heard of an out-door hotsprings?

I heard once of a place where you could swim male/female together (with suits) in an outdoor hot spring, but I never got the location.

Anyone know?

I've been to one like that. It's the miranda springs spa at the hotel of the same name in Icheon, not to be confused with Incheon, about an hour south of Seoul. I was expecting something like this

But unfortunatley was more like this

Well, not that bad actually, it has a pretty good range of thermal pools etc but definitely no natural feel about it. Go on a sunday and visit the traditional pottery village there first( more fun than it sounds honestly!) before spending a few hours soaking it up

So, basically... you were expecting Japanese monkeys and instead there were lots of white monkeys?

Very Happy

A substantial portion of Waterpia in Sokcho is outdoors. Theres an assortment of soaking pools with fake "natural" surrounds as well as a wave pool, a lap pool, various jet pools, a doctor fish pool, etc, all fed with natural thermal mineral water.

You can move in & out of a couple buildings as well that house another big wave pool, waterslides, & more assorted jacuzzis. Nice natural setting to the whole place, lots of trees around & great views of Seoraksan. Snack bars, espresso, beer, etc.

When youre done with all that, theres also large segregated nude spa & sauna facilities, also including outdoor pools.

You can google the place but the website doesnt do it justice -- it has recently doubled in size & they're working on expanding it further.

A lot of fun. I hit it up maybe once a month.

I've heard students talk of such places (outdoor/male-female) in Suwon but haven't been.
