How many new threads are too much from an individual poster? I mean people want to post things that interest 'em, so what is too much, just right. I don't want to post too much. I am sure I've been guilty of posting too much stuff as others have.
Awooooooooooooooooo says Jack the Wolfman......
What's the maximum? I would say not beyond 4.

What you are describing is not what I would call "spam." |

What would you consider spam and what about posting new threads in terms of what would be excessive? |

Adv,
I'd change the question to the number of new threads. I'm guessing that's what you are referring to (feel free to correct me though). I voted for three. Personally I think if you start more then three, then you need to reassess how much time you read conspiracy websites (yeah I'm referring to one particular person).
The thing is certain people also spam the ends of threads (some of which have no connection to the topic at all) quite a bit. These are almost two seperate issues.
That's a good point to bring up though. |

I don't think there is a magic number. Spam is 'unwanted, unsolicited mail'. In this context, I think a new thread is spam if it has no context. We all have computers, so we all have access to the same information. Therefore, I think a new post should have a few lines by the poster to tell why this article is worthwhile. Several times I've said that it's my opinion that a murder is a private matter, unless it somehow relates to a larger issue. The same with weather reports from some other area of the world. |

Leftists should be limited to one (1) new thread per day so they can narrow down their histrionic reaction to every rumor to one actual news story. This would mean that like the press, they'd have a pool, requiring them to post new threads on a rotating basis, in keeping with their communal socialist vision. Certain posters carrying musical instruments would fall into this categories. Posters of a different gender who are grossly underrepresented on this forum but not silenced would receive preferential consideration, as would minorities with the notable exception of indignant gyopos, who are banned altogether.
All rightists, except for the Far Right, which is really Libertarian and consists of armchair anarchists, would also get only one (1) new thread per day. Certain regally minded posters would fall into this category. Given their utter contempt of government, they would need to decide by straw poll somehow, or finding a moderator who selects one based on a Daily Quiz Bowl testing how well they keep up with the latest conspiracy theories.
Moderates like me and several others would be entitled to five (5) new threads per diem, assuming that we felt compelled to post and had something worth piquing interest in. As they are not ideologically driven and actually believe in the democractic process, they could even hold elections for OP of the Week, thus sharing the responsibility of posting to keep the Ship of State, as it were, on an even keel.
At any rate, these are my musings at the moment on the subject. |

Yep.
Current "hot" issues clearly warrant WIDE exposure. There are also often numerous multi-faceted angles.

Conext is largely subjective.
Some people's view of parameters is VERY NARROW.

We all do we? Really?

If people can't figure out why it's worthwhile, maybe they should be reading another thread.

Too bad you didn't use the word "thoughts" because I feel that would have pushed your already hilarious post well into the "farce" zone. |

Adventurer: it would not bother me if someone posted a thousand threads per day, provided each new thread presented fresh information or a new topic to consider and/or discuss. It does bother me when someone posts more than one conspiracy-theory or antiAmerican propaganda piece -- not only per day, but per posting history.
That is, there are posters here who believe a global conspiracy explains everything -- even my own existence as a poster here -- and who strongly dislike America (or, as they rationalize it, "American foreign policy"). Very fine. I (and others, I presume) get it. Now, these posters should please stop hitting us over the head with UFOs and bitter antiEstablishmentarianism, their darkest of dark worldviews, again and again, and again and again, and again and again...
And let us move on to other things. It is a big world, you know. |

Gopher,
I agree with you. And you've noticed that the two headed monster has spawned yet another head. I guess she's not content with having just one account, but probably two or three (at least). We'll see how many more months before the mods lift a finger to do anything about it. |

We are speculating about IGTG/Arjuna. What does the third head call itself? |

Shhh...you didn't need to say that. God only knows, I'm sure she's got a few accounts on the side when (and if) the time comes that they finally put her out of her misery (and by that I mean ban her). Then again, they are pretty content with doing nothing about most of the time, so maybe she won't need them after all. |
