| Has anyone been there? I saw it while I was riding subway line 7. I saw a few boat landings, swimming pool, and biking lanes. |

| I went to uni with a chick whose family owned that (I am guessing). I didn't know a Korean from a Chinese person back then (early 90's) but she told me her family owned an amusement park near the Han river in Seoul. |

If you enjoy the wonders of Korean concrete landscaping then this park is for you.
There's also a jet ski dock next door with suits and skis/boards to rent.
Nice buffets in those boats along the bank. |

| The facilities get very crowded on weekends, but they're available for everyone to enjoy. Go to it, man! |

There's windsurfing there too if that floats your boat.
And a bunch of floating bars, some with actual outside decks (not sure if they're going to be using them though.. most people like to be cooped up indoors whilst sitting by the river apparantely..)
About 3ks downstream is Seoul forest, which isn't a forest. It's a kind of nature park type thing. They have some deer and a lake and some grass. Oh and a few trees.
The swimming pools by tteokseom resort station aren't yet filled. They're summer only. Which probably means that they're open for July and August and nothing else. it won't matter that it's 30C degrees a few days or a month beforehand, it won't be open because the calendar which was designed 1,000 years ago says its cold and not swimming season. And that's the end of the matter. June = cold and September = cold. Even if it's 32C and 100% humidity. Dangerously cold for swimming. In sea, river or outdoor pool. (Actually, it is ALWAYS too dangerous to swim in a river in Korea. Rivers are for banana boats NOT swimmers!)
Anyway without anymore digressions, the 'park' there is quite nice. I like it because its 2 minutes from my house by bike. Go check it out. |
