|
|
So the question is should I go straight to Seoul, or make a little detour in China to get what I need?
I would like to buy some dress clothes such as shirts, ties, pants, suit jackets, etc. (I am not looking for super-designer name-brand clothing since I can't afford that stuff no matter where it is.)
I know China can offer clothing at a very low price, and I'm curious if the same can be said for Seoul. What about nice leather dress shoes?
Any comments on these things, or any other great shopping deals that you find in Seoul that are worth mentioning?
I look forward to hearing.

i would say China would be a better place if you are serously looking for a new wardrobe....and if you were worried about the cost...you can find pretty much anything there....but then again China is a little bigger than Seoul last time i checked, so there is definatley more variety
that being said, you can probably find some decent stuff in Seoul, all of which is from China...just like back home....but expect to pay more than in China
if you are willing to do a vacation/shopping trip in China before coming to Korea, i would say go for it |

Go to the Pearl Market or Silk Market in Beijing. Tons of imitation brands and you can haggle them down cheap. But be careful about bringing too many back to Korea. It's illegal to bring back imitation goods. It's easy to bring as long as you don't go nuts. One person I know tried to bring back 7 winter coats, all similar styles, and customs took them away. |

Okay, I"ll make sure I don't stock up on fake things.
It's not that I'm planning a shopping trip into China, but I think I'll be stopping for a bit in China before I get to Korea.
I guess your comments confirmed my opinion, and I should buy things in China first.
I appreciate your advice. Cheers. |

I'd disagree here. In China you will get crap quality stuff that will fall apart. Unless you spend a fair bit in which case you might as well wait until Seoul.
Try for youself though---maybe I didn't know where to look. |

Shanghai now has H & M and Zara which is worth a visit for shopping clothes. If your that far might as well carry on to Hong Kong tho. |

Shanghai was as good clothes shopping wise as most big western cities, just don't be fooled into thinking that they give the stuff away. |
