|
|
I know I've seen a thread about this before, but for some reason the search function isn't working for me (the page says "done", but it's blank).
A couple of my students are going to be doing an interview tomorrow (Friday) to attend an International School. They are 8 and 10 years old. The interview is late afternoon, Friday, and the mother would like me to help the kids prepare for the interview beforehand.
Really short notice, eh?
All she knows is that they will be quizzed on "shapes".
Does anyone have any experience in preparing kids for interviews? Any tips about questions asked would be appreciated. I'll be checking this thread in the morning, and right up until I see the kids at 1:00pm.
Thanks in advance! |

The interview is very dependant on the International School and the grade level.
At first grade the test is often composed of identifying shapes, numbers, letters and sight words.
As the grade level goes up so does the difficulty of the test. The second grade test is usually based on the required learning objectives from the first grade.
I do know that many of the International School require the student to write a small interduction as well if they are applying for any grade higher than first grade.
If you know the name of the school, I might be able to find out a little more for you. |

Thanks for the reply! I just called the mother, and she said that the interview is for an International school in Shanghai. They are actually going to Shanghai for the interview!
Wow, she really left this to the last minute. I'm to help her kids prepare at 1:00pm, and they'll be leaving the country this evening.

I'll work on these things with them today. Their English is really good, having spent so much time in the US.
Thanks again gteacher, and if you, or anyone else, can think of some general topics that may be discussed, or skills that will be tested, I'll be checking back here for the next couple of hours. |
