My wife and I just found a kitten in haebanchon. It can be no older than a week. Very small, very cute. We already have 2 cats so are unable to take this one. Anyone out there want a small cute kitten get in touch asap, thanks

are its eyes open yet?
if it's only one week old chances aren't really good it will survive w/o it's mom and her milk - sorry - someone must have abandoned it or quite possibly the mother was moving the kitten and was surprised somehow and dropped it (a feral cat).
if it's eyes are open and it doesn't look like it's wild (not dirty) someone must have abandoned it and it's older than 1 week.
take it to a vet and ask how to keep it alive, i.e., what formula to make. I'd recommend just buy a regular baby formula at the store and dilute it down half and half
keep the kitten warm in a towel in a box, not much larger than the kitten - it needs heat - feed it as much and as often as it can eat.
you definitely might expose your cats to some kind of infection tho, so be careful
if you can keep it alive a few weeks probably you have a better chance of finding it a good home.

| I've heard a lot of good stories about stray kittens being picked up by people when they were extremely young, and the kittens grow up to become great pets. Good luck finding a home for the little guy. |

I find it hard to believe you've heard a LOT of these stories - maybe one or 2?
an extremely young kitten, or puppy, for that matter, especially one that's not been weaned, has a very little chance of making it for a number of reasons.
the mother's milk has antibodies in it that protects the infant from many different infections; plus if the animal was abandoned it's already stressed which can be lethal in and of itself.
while it's certainly acceptable to encourage someone to do the humane thing, giving false hope is unfair; plus if someone truly understands how critical the situation is, they will try that much harder to keep the animal alive - and in this situation, it will take a huge effort.
just be realistic, ok? |

Well, I would consider two or three stories a lot, especially considering I've never heard a failure story.
When my friend found this guy, he was as small as a week-old kitten but already tougher than kittens who were a month old. Of course, the fact that he was living with a litter of slightly older kittens and their mother who was still breastfeeding could have had something to do with it.

last year we rescued a kitten off the streets and she is a beautiful pet now!!! she took a little while to get used to everything but they do calm down and she'll be coming to america next year  |

All of your wonderful efforts towards our feline friends are heartwarming - perhaps it's just you simply aren't that aware of just how small and delicate a week-old kitten is - and the ones that have been found/rescued were actually probably older than assumed.
furthermore, feral cats live an extremely difficult life and don't grow nearly as big as their domesticated cousins. a kitten born to a struggling stray could very well be small and underweight making someone think it's younger than it actually is.
is good there are those who are able to do something positive about the wild cats in K - there are certainly a lot of them. It was so poignant when I was in Vietnam and seeing how well the cats were treated - probably thanks to the French occupation influence - compared to here. |

BT,
Kudos for rescuing the kitten. My wife and I adopted a kitten two months ago that had a pretty sad story. The mom cat was pregnant with three babies and a stray, the cat was being abused and on the verge of dying and a Korean gal who is about 20 rescued it and took it to a vet. The mom and other two babies died, but one kitten survived.
He's a nice big healthy kitten (and he bites!) and is now 5 months old weighing 6.5lbs.
I hope you find a home and the kitten survives. |

BTW moosehead.... our other kitten that we brought here from america is also a stray that we found on the side of the road with a infected eye bloated gut from malnutrition and a bite on her neck form an animal and now she is the fattest most loving kitty in the world..... great pet |
