what's the going rate?
I'm finally feeling the need to go ahead and pay someone to come in and clean my place once a week. I'm just too busy to do so and tired of it not looking as good as it could.
I've seen ads posted up in Hannam Market - is that an ok place to choose to call someone?
anyone else hire someone to clean before? |

There have been previous threads on this.
A good way is to phone the YMCA and they have a database of cleaning ajummas. It is much cheaper (can't recall price) here in Korea. Some will also cook for you if you want!
Don't think they are screened and they do have your key though. I know my co-teachers were trading 'scary ajumma/cleaning lady stories' they had heard. So perhaps try and get one through word of mouth? |

Maybe ask a coworker to write up a letter saying what you are looking for, and then give it to your security guard. Maybe there is an ajumma in your building that would do it. I have heard rates of 30,000 won for 4 hours. I paid my cleaning lady 40,000 because I had her do some laundry too. Plus she was the building cleaner at our Academy, so I was willing to pay more for someone I trusted. |
