No, but I spent many years studying the history of the English language so I am sure this is just a new version of all the others.

It's made me want to read more. Any other interesting books you'd recommend? I have 'The Story of English' which I hope to read next.

While there are many interesting chapters in 'Spellbound', the Norman French influence is by far the most interesting and most memorable. Funny that it was never taught in my public school though.
