I've looked but have been unable to find, probably due to my lack of Korean, Samsung hard drives online here in Korea. I saw one on Newegg, a 320GB laptop hard drive made by Samsung for $149. Of course, add shipping... Does anyone know a good site for computers (hardware) for Korea? Someone online mentioned a 500GB Samsung HD soon to be released... Thanks for your help.

Is this for your Sony Vaio VGN-CR290? Looks like you need a 2.5" S-ATA HDD. (Not sure as I am too lazy to check!) Surprisingly danawa lists 250Gb as the biggest Samsung drive. Prices are starting from 114.000.

Go to HERE and make a search for HM250JI/DOM. Click the first result and you will have a list of 237 stores that sell this drive.

PS. Did you upgrade your memory to 4Gb? Any problems?

Yes, it is for my Sony and no I haven't upgraded the memory as nobody seems to give me a straight answer. The Sony tech I spoke with online said it's do-able, upgrading to 4GB but the computer won't show it although it is using the memory. Other people have said the opposite. As for the hard drive, Newegg has the laptop Samsung 320GB so I don't know why Korea wouldn't have it. Some posters online mentioned some 500GBs to be out soon. As for having and external, I do. However, I need to carry a ton of data when I travel (don't ask) and my current 160Gb isn't doing the trick and I do not want to carry an external with me.

If you are running 32bit OS this is the case. You might see 3.2 to 3.5GBs and the rest would be used by VGA and other devices.

I don't know either. And this is not the 1st time. Some time ago I tried to find some memory chips and just couldn't find any... and Korea makes, what, 60% of the memory chips of the world? Could it be that all the latest and the best stuff Korean manufacturers make is only for export?

Anyway, if a Samsung is not a must, danawa has, now get this, ONE 2.5" SATA2 320GB 5400RMP HDD for laptops (WD3200BEVT) starting from 179.000.
